Red Cross Central Illinois Chapter

Volunteer

Volunteers play a vital role in fulfilling the Red Cross mission, and make it possible for us to service our communities.

Become a volunteer by following these steps:

  1. Apply. Download an application to e-mail, fax or mail.
  2. Attend orientation. Volunteer Orientations are group classes that will help you learn more about the Red Cross mission and where you fit within the organization. Orientations are held the first Tuesday of each month from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Register for a group orientation to find out more about what volunteers do within the Red Cross, and where you fit. You may also contact our Volunteer Coordinator to make arrangements for a one on one orientation that fits your schedule. Please take our Introduction to Disaster course online to get a feel for some of our opportunities you have within the Red Cross.
  3. Verify. After you have decided to join the Red Cross volunteer ranks, we will assist you in the completion of your mandatory background check.
  4. Get involved. Choose from the volunteer areas under Volunteer Opportunities that best serve your interests. Sign up for free training if needed in your interest area, and begin your rewarding volunteer service!

Thank you for your service to the American Red Cross!
